I have used code to pop a browse folders window up, which you can control the default starting location, and then once the file is selected load it into a File Attachment control. But unfortunately the File Attachment control is not as well developed as it could be.

From an overwriting standpoint, it is only if a form with the same name exists, such as an existing form is opened and then resubmitted, it would naturally need to overwrite the previous version. Otherwise you need to use a concatenation formula to dynamically create unique form names. But if an existing form is in SharePoint it would only be ...

Hey Dean,
One way to do this is create a text file where the user can paste the url then have the same text field but change it to a hyperlink. Probably the best is to have the text field that they can input into hide as soon as they enter the url or maybe on seperate views. You can test by designing a new form, add a text field, put it twice ...

I would get your forms figured out first, creating a navigation should be pretty easy and as posted can be done with numerous methods. Can you give us an example? What do you have so far and what are you trying to get?

Hey Grant, Welcome.
Can you explain the exact problem a little better. It sounds like the form and the process are working for you and your manager. He is able to approve them? But the problem is when another group and manager use the form?
We will probably need a more detailed explanation. To do this same process, and take it to the next ...

I would then have three response fields instead of one large one. That will give you much greater control over user actions.

Art,
I am assuming you are entering your entries manually. I would make sure the value for ''Please Select One'' is really blank, maybe delete it and create another. Does it have the red * when the form first opens showing a validation error?
Another fix, which you would probably want in case they skip the drop down is to put a conditional rule ...
