One idea would be to send the data via a web service to SQL, and then have a SQL job that sends email.
Another option would be to look into SharePoint workflows.
As far as having the form automatically send email without any user interaction, I don't have any ideas for that, sorry.

You would need to add data validation to the individual fields you would like to verify. Have you tried this?
If you're talking about blank required fields, then those will have a red asterix, not a red dashed border.
You could also disable the submit button if certain fields are not filled out, forcing the user to continue filling out the ...

Hello,
You will need to install the Active Directory StandAlone Tool on the new server (ShP 2010). If I understand correctly, you have already done this. Does the AD web service return data if you test it thru http://sharepoint/QdabraAD/AdUserInfo.asmx via IE while logged in to the server?

How is the form being deployed to SharePoint? In InfoPath 2007 / SharePoint 2007 you'll need to admin deploy the form; I believe there are steps in the qRules User Guide. If this is happening in spite of those deploy steps, please let us know. Thanks.

What if two users open the form at the same time? You'll need to have one of the users get x and the other user get x+1. So, in summary, ...

Is your form Full trust or Domain security? Can you try changing that setting and see if the issue repros?

I would suggest that you have two fields, one for each calculation (one with tax and one without tax), and then conditionally display only one of those, depending on the selection made in the dropdown (yes vs no).
Good luck!
