There are multiple ways of accomplishing this. I am not sure if you are using another form as a template or starting from scratch or if you are using code or just using rules. To test this and do some learning I would recommend creating a new form from scratch. Select Database as the type and connect it to your ...

Typically you should not have an issue using InfoPath 2007 to view InfoPath 2003 forms, it is backward compatible. If they are going to be changing the design of the form, which it does not sound like, then they would need to make sure they kept them compatible for 2003 users.

Just catching up on this thread but I thought I would throw out an idea that might simplify this solution. From what I see in the screen shots, you are making it more complicated than it may need to be by having two forms.
It appears you have two tables of data, one for Name and ID and the other for ID and Salary. Are these in a database? If so ...

Typically I would go with a view if possible. This is cleaner and simpler.
you can use a rule action on a button to open another form too.
For me, there has to be a reason to load another form. if a view works. go with it.
Performance is another Consideration.

Excellent Input!
That is a cool trick.
I have not tested it yet but I believe all Vista machines should have native ink support that would also support this. When I get a chance I will give it a try or maybe someone else has tested this.

Hey Mark,
This is possible and very common, one of the submit options is to submit, or save, to a SharePoint Document Library. Once youset up the dataconnection, you can setup the submit button on the toolbar or you can add you own button and make it a submit type, or you can just create a rule on any button which submits to a ...
