I think InfoPath doesn't play nicely when you combine OR and Ands in the same condition.
XPath and most programming languages give AND a higher precedence than OR (and InfoPath uses XPath behind the scenes). This means that this expression:Field1 = "a" OR Field2 = "b" AND ...

In all my time with InfoPath, I can't say I've encountered an issue with OR working unexpectedly. When you say "If rule 1 is false and rule 2 is true it stops at rule 1." Are you using one rule or two rules? If it's two, then are you actually using the OR operator? What is your expected behavior in this case? How have you ...

It looks like you've deleted the space that was after the comma in the original formula. In that case, you would need to change the 3 at the end of the formula to a 2.

Yes, this is easy to do. For the controls that should be shown when Request Type is "Request Type A", add conditional formatting rules to those controls to hide them when Request Type is not equal to "Request Type A", and then do similarly for the controls that should be shown for Request Type B.

If you're using InfoPath 2010, you can add a Form Load rule by going to the Data tab and clicking the Form Load button. Here you can add a rule just like any other rule, to set this field's value. If you give it the condition [MonthField is blank], then it will only set the field the first time the form is opened.

How about this:eval(eval(P_Caustic_value[. != ""], 'concat(" - ", ., xdXDocument:GetDOM("newline")/linebreaks/newLine)'), "..")

Ok, the trouble is that you are including more in the paths than you need to. Since the context node in this case is F-Note, all you need is paths relative to that: substring(eval(eval(F-Note, 'concat(", ",
my:DateNote_F, ": ",
my:NoteDetail_F)'), ".."), 3)The explanation for why this ...

It looks like this space is originating from the space in "; ". The substring is stripping off the leading semicolon, but not the space. To fix this, simply change the 2 to a 3.

I haven't worked with Document Information Panels, but one thing to verify here is that https://mysite.sharepoint.com is in your local intranet sites in the Internet Explorer security settings. I believe I have seen this error result from not having the publish site in IE's local intranet sites.
