• Re: Adding Tabs (Infopath 2007)

It is true that section has to be bound. But you can bind it to just about anything and you can also bind several sections to the same node! Just make sure users cannot add/remove them (in section properties) and you should get no adverse effects (you'll have to be a bit careful for InfoPath Forms Server though). Then you can introduce a ...

Note: there is an additional trick needed for INPUT controls or else the roundtripping through Designer will not work: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2005/03/25/Preserve-Code-Blocks-_2800_xd_3A00_preserve_2900_-and-Input-Tags.aspx

  • Dynamic buttons in InfoPath 2003 – wrapping unbound controls with xd:preserve

InfoPath 2007 has a lot of new great features including dynamic buttons where a button text can be specified via xpath. Unfortunately, such features are not Designer-compatible with InfoPath 2003, that is, you will be able to edit your forms alright but it won’t be possible to design them – the views containing them will be marked as ...

  • Re: Accessing Form Controls in VSTA ---Problem

Yes, the OM has changed a lot and now you have to use Navigators... here is an example:XPathNavigator rootNavigator = this.MainDataSource.CreateNavigator(); XPathNavigator radioButtonPersonal = rootNavigator.SelectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:radioButtonPersonal", ...

  • Re: Running a Windows Application through InfoPath

Well, the domain level settings were designed explicitly to prevent you from doing want you want so if you find a way you will essentially expose a security bug in InfoPath! :) Having said that, I once faced a similar problem where I needed to open a URL on a button click. I tried doing this in code by doing a shell exec and it failed miserably ...

  • Re: MessageBox don't work

The problem with Browser-Enabled Forms is that your code runs entirely on the server. As such, there is no way you can show a WinForms messagebox: even if you succeed, no one will ever see it. Your best is to implemented modeless UI in the form intself using conditional formatting by showing/hiding an section in your form that contains the error. ...

  • Re: How to display error message in browser

Since the Forms Server does not let you show modal UI, your best bet is to probably implement your own modeless in-flow "dialog" with conditional formatting by using a section that only gets shown when you have an error.
