If all of the data for all of the people is loaded in your form, you could do this with simple filtering (no code required). However, this would be bad because a) the data is static, it doesn't refresh if others are filling ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 12-27-2010 Re: Repeating records changing values by themselves when being submitted If you've done 20 InfoPath applications using SQL, you probably don't care about the limitations: Data isn't saved as XML - rich data types (images, rich text, files, etc.) don't roundtrip, can't refer to a signed "document" later since the data doesn't exist in one XML piece in SQL Data locking and ... First time I have heard of this bug. I would contact Microsoft since it seems like a bug. We advocate using Web Services between InfoPath and SQL since that gives you a layer and added redundancy. If you change the data source (i.e. schema) you will have problems with old data. Make sure you just rebind the control. Don't change the data source. Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 12-23-2010 Re: problems with using rules and auto numbering on a submit button Hello, Best practice for auto-numbering is to do a double submit. Submit to SharePoint, query the number assigned, set the field for the number, and then submit again. If you are also emailing the form, do that only after the other actions. I'm not sure what S.Y.M. Wong said in her blog. We don't support her web site. You're best ... Posted to General (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 12-23-2010 Re: How to store infopath data in list ??? Hi Chintan, If you are using a ShaRePoint List form, you can save to the list. Otherwise, you need to write code. qRules is the cheapest solution out there to solve your problem if you need to integrate your InfoPath Form in a Library with a separate SharePoint list. We don't make any profit from it. The cost of $199 covers our cost. This ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 12-23-2010 Re: How do I auto-fill a field from a rich text field? Hi Victoria and welcome, Yes, you can just have the field show up in that other section (as duplicate) and make it read-only. If you change it to a plain text control, it will show the XHTML which won't look so good. You can copy it to another rich text field (different from the original) and then allow editing. Hope that helps. Send email to CourseManager (at) Qdabra (dot) com for a syllabus. Lots of great content. I just gave the class last week. Posted to General (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 12-22-2010 Re: InfoPath email - iPhone and WinMo formatting challenges Hi Aaron, No real silver bullet here, but if you have MOSS 2007 with InfoPath Form Services you could configure it to display the form in the browser and send a link to your form in the email instead of the actual body. I realize that's an extra step, but that would certainly be a solution to your formatting grief (albeit requiring online ...
