• Re: Receiving Data From Repeating Section

This is known as a cascading list. Do a search on InfoPath Dev for the word ''Cascade''. This should help you find what you need. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev

  • Re: xd:preserve how it work?

The Preserve Code Block can only be applied to an xsl:template / xsl:apply-templates pair. Place your drop-down list box inside of a section, then go back to the XSL and you will be able to create a Preserve Code Block from the section you placed your drop-down list box in. • Re: Cannot be blank in hidden sections

You need to set the field so that it can be blank, and then write custom data validation to check if A) the field is blank AND B) the section is visible. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev

  • Re: How to know if it submitting first time

You can check XDocument.IsNew == true, or you can see if XDocument.URI has the same base address (i.e. your SP site) as thisXDocument.Solution.URI (the location of the form template the form was started from) Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev

  • Re: confirm open after download

Sounds more like what has happened is that the .xml file is not associated with the InfoPath application anymore. Does the InfoPath application icon appear for that file, or a more generic icon? Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev

  • Re: Infopath and snitz

Since you have Snitz using an Access database, you should be able to create a form based on that database. You need to familiarize yourself enough with the db struture to know which tables need to be present in the form for a submit to work properly. Also there are probably other things going on in the background when a submit happens. You will ...

  • Re: appendchild

Loading the XML fails because you have a back-slash instead of a forward-slash in your closing tag... should be </my:Plant> and not <\my:Plant>. appendChild will fail because Node is probably blank due to the loadXML failure. Also, I believe you need to set the namespace on objDoc before you append it for it to work correctly. Greg ...

  • Re: Nodes

ExecuteAction only works on fields physically present in the current view. AppendChild works directly on the XML and will work regardless of whether the fields are present in the current view. Which is more simple? Depends on your comfort level with each... Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP] InfoPath Dev
