You can probably use the SelectText method to select a control, but using code to perform validation this simple seems like overkill.http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa944234.aspx

Hello again Stacie,
Could you try going to the Documents tab for the ProjectForm in DAT and opening up one of the newly submitted forms to see if the new field values are present in them? Here I'm supposing you added controls to the view to show their value. That's one way of trying to find out where the disconnect is ...

It's not impossible to trap an exception from calling a web service, but it does require code, and it's advisable to avoid code if you can.
When you say the query fails, what do you mean specifically? Is it because of a connection or authentication problem, or is the web service actively throwing an exception?

This would depend on where the dropdown's values are coming from. You'll need an expression to determine the number of repeating items in that node set and hide the dropdown box using that expression. You'll need to use the count() function for this.

Did you try this?:/path/to/repeatingField[last()]/dateField The last() selector should be on the repeating node, not the date field itself.

You just need to split up your rules into separate rule sets, and use a condition at some point to stop executing rules if the web service returns false.

Is the error occurring when you try to query the database, or before you do the actual query? I can't think of a reason why you would get that error, but your query doesn't look right. Doesn't there need to be some column in the query that you are comparing to that wildcard expression, as in: SELECT * FROM ...

You're still getting the error because dataFieldsChildren is a list of all the my:field1s in the form, while dataFieldsNode is the first my:group2 in the form. There are probably my:field1 nodes that are not children of the first my:field2 node.
Try this, changing the value in quotes if your checked value is something other than ...

In the expression A.removeChild(B), B has to be a child node of A, but in your code, dataFieldsNode and dataFieldsChildren(i) are both my:field1.
