So - you'll need to republish the template. Where do you currently open the form to fill it out? From SharePoint? Did you republish to SharePoint already?
What happens when you try to open previously filled out files with the updated template?

I've actually made changes to the form itself. Dragging a line basically to make a field a little larger or smaller. I use it to fill out of PO's ( purchase orders ). But somehow when I was trying to get the older files to open it would not work. I somehow got the form to save with newer files but it still would not open up older ...

The issue is ...
