Hi Johnnie M.
If the SharePoint server you are installing to has port 443 configured DBXL will try to use that. Are you saying your certificate is configured to use http and not https? We may need to do a live meeting with you to investigate. What timezone are you in and what's best time for one of our engineers to call you?
Best regards,

Well, easiest might be to use Active Directory and just get all of the directs for the current person. Installing Qdabra's Active Directory Web Service (free trial) and setting this up would take maybe 30-60 minutes. Not much time to do this. The benefit is that when management changes, it automatically works and shows the update.

Hi Hollyanne,
I have no idea and can only guess that the custom workflow that is parsing the XML is failing when it sees UTF-8 encoding. It shouldn't do that though. Sorry, but why do you need a Visual Studio 8 project to do this? You should be able to do this all in SharePoint Designer without writing code. We've done that but we tend to ...

I don't know of any custom controls that do this. We tend to just map the data to SQL and use Excel on top of SQL to generate charts or graphs.

Hi Explosive0 and welcome,
When you can publish your form to a SharePoint form library you can choose to promote some of the fields as columns. Then, in SharePoint, you can set up a workflow to run and using the SharePoint Designer, you can use the promoted column data. In other words, your tasks can just be the rows in this library. The workflow ...

Just use a formatting rule with a condition that matches a regular expression where that regular expression is one or more alphanumerics at the beginning followed by anything. The regular expression dialog shows you some samples and you can infer from them how to create the custom pattern or you could just read up on regular expressions via ...

I'm guessing you have InfoPath 2010 browser running on SharePoint 2010. You should be able to do this - that's what the event was created for. We do this in the rich client all the time but not for master-detail. Doing it for a repeating table is easy and it's relatively straightforward to set up a master/detail that does not use the ...

Hi CKili,
Qdabra's Active Directory Web Service returns all data in Active Directory, so if you have set it up with custom attributes those will be returned as well. You'll have to install the Web Service on a server, but it should work. No code required.
If the data you want does not exist in AD but rather in Exchange, you will need to ...

I'm guessing you are using SharePoint List Forms in 2010. Why not do something simple like create another list for users default values. This is a really simple list that sets default value. They fill this out at the beginning of a session and this form on submit automatically navigates them to the other form for questions. The questions form ...

Hi CompGeekess,
So you're trying to filter a SQL data query to show the values based on a field. The first link describes a technique to set up all fields to filter based on another field. Unfortunately, this requires all of the data to be downloaded to the form on load. If there are only 100 sets of data, that should work fine, but if more ...
