Does anyone know why, technically, multiple actions cannot be performed before submitting, via rules, using HTTP POST?

Hi Mozzak,
The XPath for that would be
AmendmentGrp[last()]/AmendVerNum
If you're using a browser form and it doesn't like the use of last(), then this one will probably work:
AmendmentGrp[not(following-sibling::my:AmendmentGrp)]/AmendVerNum

I'm using InfoPath 2010 Designer to build forms that are published on our Sharepoint server for employees to fill-out. I have it as a web-browser form compatible with 2007. I have a large form with 15 pages/views that we use on a daily basis. On the main page, I have an address field where we enter the address of a customer site. ...

InfoPath limits how many values can be updated without manual intervention to less than 16.
The default value Hilary provided is one value. Each time it causes a row to be added it updates one value. So it gets to 15 rows OK and then stops. It is quite happy to let the user keep adding more rows one at a time, the ...

I print this form to my "AdobePDF" printer and create a PDF document. The PDF is created without issue. Note: Adobe Acrobat X is installed on my computer.
I choose to edit the PDF text, ...

The following will give me the value of field AmendVerNum of first row.
AmendmentGrp[1]/AmendVerNum
How can I get the value of the last row ?
thanks again

You get the error on form open? Are there any other rules running off the field with the default value? I'll check my sample in our environment later today and see if the same issue reproduces for me.

Hi Hilary, sorry but the wedding is off.
Firstly, I am married :-)
Secondly, your solution works up to seven rows but if I add an eighth default row I get an error,
"An error occurred in the form's code. The number of calls to the Changed event for a single update in the data exceeded the maximum limit."
It works fine in ...
