Hi gbgeek,
There's no right answer as to whether to use code or filters. Filters are less work so long as you understand how to set them up correctly. If you are not inside a repeating table, it is a lot easier. Inside a repeating table, having a correct understanding of how to use current() makes all the difference.

I don't personally have any... but I know that there are plenty of sources on the Internet for first-time Web service development... it will just take a little searching to find one that is easy to understand and follow.

Okay, as best as I can figure out, from what you've provided me (assuming I understand correctly), you have:
DD1 is bound to [AccessDB]/myFields/dataFields/d:Register/Element
DD2 is bound to [AccessDB]/myFields/dataFields/d:Register/Task
where d:Register is a repeating node.
Then you populate DD1 from the XML file using the XPath ...

Yes, long data types (ntext included) are not supported directly from InfoPath. If you need to use these, you must use a Web service or write some other code to communicate directly with SQL.

Will you provide more technical information of what you are doing, such as actual code snippets. It is difficult to ascertain the problem at this point.

If you cannot get what you need from the control itself, one alternative is to write code to load the XSL into a DOM and then do an XPath query for your object/param[NAME=''Size'']/VALUE. This string value can then be broken out into its X/Y components for initialization via code or some other means.

Email features in InfoPath require Outlook 2003. They are disabled otherwise. Sorry, there is no workaround other than to have Outlook 2003 on each machine.

It could be the structure of your schema. 1) What does your schema look like. 2) What node are you binding the drop-down list to? 3) In what order are the filters placed for this control?

Have you tried using ''<'' and ''>'' in place of ''<'' and ''>'' ?
