There isn't a way to turn an OnChange event off and on dynamically. You can, however, add logic to the event that inspects the form's XML and only runs the relevant code only under a certain condition.

I'm having a bit of trouble parsing this sentence:
If the user has selected Americas and EMESA in the first box and North America and South Asia in the second, then changes the Region Group to China rather than America- North America stays selected.
Could you describe the problem with a bit more detail?

Is your code producing any particular error, or just not working?

Why not use InfoPath's userName() function?
-
To type the username function into a formula box, you need to type userName() (notice the capital N) when "Edit XPath" is not checked, or xdUser:get-UserName() (all case sensitive) if it is checked. The Insert Function... button will take care of this for you.

I find it very hard to believe that even after changing it to that code, strRichText still has the value "namespace.fieldName." Are you sure you're not making some mistake in redeploying the web service and that it's not running a previous build of the code?

Could you show us the exact code you tried, based on my recent post?

Most likely, the rich text contents of your field are being deserialized as an array of XmlNodes called Any. If that's the case, you should be able to get the XHTML with something like this:
StringBuilder richText = new StringBuilder();
foreach (XmlNode node in myInstructs.txtRichText.Any)
{
...

Why is it not a good idea?

Could you elaborate on what you're using to validate the list box? I recall you had an earlier post where you mentioned you couldn't find a way to perform validation on a multi-selection list box.
Are you displaying an error in an expression box, or disabling the submit button, or something else?
