The data is there, it just doesn't display. So, when you open and then submit a form that shows these symptoms, the data is still in the list. I have no idea. I mean, my suspicion would be that the workflow is actually changing the data, but if it still exists when you export the list to Excel, that's not it. I was hoping a different ...

Yeah, I have literally no idea. If you save the form when you repro the issue (i.e., you didn't make changes in step 2 and the date time info is not displaying, but you can see the info is in the list via Excel) - does the data then go missing in the list? That is, if the data round-trips, does InfoPath cause you to lose the data?

Try: eval(eval(ItemLine, 'concat(my:CMMF, ";")'), "..")

Right. That's the behavior I'd expect. Max(ID) is now returning a number. When you move the old docs into the library, there will be IDs returned to the data source, so the formula should work as anticipated.

So- what I'm suggesting is that you try adding a calculated value form control for these History fields, just on the off chance the form behaves differently. You can find the calculated value control on the ribbon and when you add it, you'll be prompted to enter an XPath - you can use the fx button to open the formula editor and select ...

Any chance it is the workflow modifying these? I'd guess no, since you can export to Excel and see the values. Are you displaying the data from the History columns in calculated values in your form? Or in text boxes?

My guess is that max(ID) returns a value in your old form because there are files in the library. If there aren't any items in the library, max(ID) + 1 will return not a number. If you use rules to set the field instead of a default value, you can work around that - add conditions for what to do if ID is not present.

Any chance I can just see a copy of the form? You can attach it under the Options tab in a reply.

Ok, so this is a list form and the data is in the same list for the same item - is that correct? Does whether or not the data shows depend on the type of control? Have you tried text box vs. calculated value?
