• Re: Hidden section lost

If I understand correctly, you're not able to view the section with controls on the Design canvas, correct? Do you have other views in your form where you might have placed it other than the one you're looking at? Or might you have accidentally deleted the section? I usually create versions of the forms I develop, giving them different ...

• Add a dog ear to your form

From this: To this: That looks like a "dog ear" to me, pretty much. Adding this requires a little knowledge with Adobe Photoshop, but the steps should be straight-forward. So, if you're ready – grab the PSD file here. 1. Open QdHeader.psd in Adobe Photoshop. 2. From the Layers pane, select ...

• Re: Action log in Infopath

Hello, We do have an XTP that does just this - it's called the Change History XTP. It has a Save button that records a history of who saved the form at what time. It also has a place where users can enter notes before saving. Each time the button is clicked, it adds a row into a repeating table with the change log. Here's a ...

• Re: GetMembersOfGroup dropdown

Hi - sorry about the confusion. The GetMembersOfGroup method already has a groupAlias parameter that you set when you create the data connection and/or via a rule. It should already return the members of the group that you specify in that parameter. In your Step 4, how are you "filtering"? I don't think you'd need ...
• Show unique rows in a secondary repeating data source table - no code!

When designing an InfoPath form that integrates with a secondary data source such as a SharePoint list, data retrieved from SQL, or a simple XML document – you may find yourself needing to hide rows that have the same value/s as that in your main data source. There might already be written blogs out there demonstrating techniques on how to do ...

• Re: save vs submit?

Hi - yes there is a SharePoint submit functionality in InfoPath. Are you using InfoPath 2007 or 2010? The latter has a checkbox at the end of the data connection wizard for submit data connections - you'd like to check that if you'd want to set your SharePoint submit as the default submit data connection. You can also go to File > ...

• How to Create a Digital Certificate and Publish a Signed Template to the DBXL Admin Tool

Because InfoPath 2010 digital certificates are only good for a month, we will use the Digital Certificate for VBA Projects tool to create one that will last several years. You could also use InfoPath 2007 or 2003 (if available) as these both produce digital certificates that last many years. Your safest route for production is to get your digital ...
