I think that you may be counting the number of preceding sibling nodes inside the repeating group? I'm not sure.
Is the field with the default formula inside the repeating group? You may want to use something like count(../preceding-sibling::my:RepeatingGroup) with "my:RepeatingGroup" replaced with your actual ...

I am attempting to publish a form and I am getting the following error:
"Multiple nested section types are not supported by InfoPath Form Services.
To publish this form, remove any nested sections of a different type inside the selected control."
I don't really understand what this says. I think it's complaining ...

Referring back to just the library submit and the two copies, did you also change your logic for creating the form name? As long as you have a formula including username and now as part of the form name, the form name will change every time you submit. Use a form field for the form name and set the value only one time instead.

Hilary,
The list has standard columns (created from within SharePoint) so nothing special there. I am able to access the lists.asmx web server in the browser. (currently nothing is getting added to the list only the form library.)

Any required fields in your list? Any "choice" or ...

When you say the new form submits once, what do you mean? Your new form only submits to the library one time? Or does this form also submit to the library two times?
Are you able to access the lists.asmx web service in the browser?
Is the listItemID field being populated, currently? That is, are you failing when you try to add ...

Thanks Hilary. I tried with the new form i created (attached). and it submits once. I cant get it to pull the ID value in the REQNumber field, but that might be because of the error im getting (still not pushing to the list)
Error from when in sharepoint:
You do not have permissions to access a Web service that provides data required for ...

How odd. Can your SharePoint Admin check the logs for the correlation ID to get more info?

If you are submitting data to list and a library, you'd execute two submit connections.... I'll take a look later this morning and let you know what I find.
