Hi-
The InfoPath out-of-the-box data connections don't filter so I think you already have what you need.
The data connection lists all the IDs in and populates a dropdown.
The user selects an option from the dropdown.
Using that ID, you can filter. Create a rule on the dropdown and set the condition to "when the dropdown is not ...

You don't have to send the form as an attachment in the email. Just switch the data connection to (as shown in the attached screenshot) and clean up the view to make it look as clean as possible. Good luck!

I think your question has more to do with how qRules is used.
When you use qRules, you are setting the Command node to one of the qRules commands. This generates a value in Result. You can use rules to place that Result anywhere you need it.
Then you execute another command, that is, you set the Command node to some other qRules command. Then ...

Since you're just starting out, how about some free training labs?
http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/jennifer/archive/2010/06/25/free-training-learn-infopath-2010-and-sharepoint-2010-by-building-an-event-form.aspx
In the third part of the lab you'll learn how to send email to users.
Good luck!

Hi,
A few of us have read your message but we can't quite understand the scenario. Would you mind rephrasing the question? If you think attachments would help explain the scenario, feel free to use the Options tab to attach files or screenshots. Thanks.

The multiselect listbox is not available for the browser. Please read this for more info:

Thanks. I see the error in design checker (attached). I think this is the same one you are seeing.
I reinjected qRules into the form, specifying InfoPath 2007 Browser, and the error in Design Checker went away. Could you try that, and then try publishing the form again?
I apologize for insisting on this, but I want to rule this out before we ...

Hi Jeff-
What does the mapping look like in DAT? There is a Data Type dropdown in the Database tab; I'm curious to see what that is set to. I'd also like to know the column data type in SQL.
SharePoint is another story. Let's check the SQL side first. :-)
Thanks.

No, as far as I know, there is no additional setting necessary. Does this repro for other forms, or just this one? Does the form have code? How is the form being deployed?
