• re: Locked Schema Got You Down?

I found that when I tried this (the manifest hack) on a certain form, InfoPath prevented me from opening the template in design mode, giving the error "The operation failed." I was able to fix this by modifying the schema to remove any namespace declarations that weren't actually used in the schema, and reimporting the schema in a ...

  • Re: DbxlVersion table got wiped during an error

I don't think that the DbxlVersion table is the problem here. The error suggests that InfoPath might be in offline mode. Could you check to see if that is the problem?

  • Re: Check that digits are random numbers

This sounds like a hack to me, while the problem lies in the people filling out the form and not the form itself. If you prevent 10 of the same number, then people will just use 0000055555, etc. and so on. I'd suggest placing a clear note in red telling people to enter a real tax number, and reject any forms that don't follow ...

  • Re: Adding Spaces to string

It sounds like you have the field recursively recalculating its own value over and over, which is what is causing that error and giving you that unexpected behavior. Are you using the formula in the field's Default Value, or a Rule? I would suggest placing the formula in a rule, and giving it the condition to only execute if the string ...

  • Re: Duplicationg text boxes.

If you want users to be able to modify the name in either place, just use two text boxes bound to the same field. If you only want them to enter the name at the top of the field, you can use an expression box at the bottom that shows the value of the textbox's field.

  • Re: XPath and Date Comparisons

Cool. Potemkine is right; you can't directly use > or < with dates and if you're writing code you'll need to do something to strip out the punctuation, like in the example Potemkine has given. In rules, conditional formatting, etc. inside the InfoPath designer, you can use ...

  • Re: XPath and Date Comparisons
I need "2010-06-01 00:00:00" and '#6/1/1978#' to both be recognized as dates so that I can do a comparison. When I run it now, I get a 0 Node Count where of course 2010 is greater than 1978. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
Why do you "need" to use a date format ...

Ok, I tried out the form, but I don't see what the problem is. Could you describe it in more detail?

You need to attach the XSN for me to see what you're talking about.
