Hi Henry,
You could use SharePoint.
I would also suggest the Database Accelerator.Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1.2815 - Developer
It includes a form template already setup which would give you the workflow you need. I would be happy to give you a demonstration.
There are many other features that may be ...

If you have any default values then the initial row could be blank and you could have conditional formatting that said if field is blank hide. Otherwise you might put an aditional flag field or have a certain value in a field which you could use to hide the row upon. FieldX = Hide - Hide

Is the repeating table blank at first?
Inorder to clone there has to be something to clone. You either need to have a blank exisitng row, which you could hide, or you code to check for no rows and only insert the first one and then clone after the first one exists.
I have seen this discussed before and would guess that is the case for you ...

To have this functionality you have to invest in InfoPath Forms Server instead of your individual clients.
Included with the Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1.2815 - Developer Installation is a forms server which will render an InfoPath form in the browser if the client does not have InfoPath. This could be a cheaper option ...

After you submit initially, keep your form open. You may have to switch your submit to rules so you can have multiple actions.
Once submitted you would query your SP view again. Identify the newly added form. Save the ID or do what ever you would need to do and then save it at the end so that it is stored in the form for the next ...

I believe there is code for getting the current file name of your form.
One easy trick is setting a field (FormName) in your form to the function xxx+ now() right before submit then use that field as the name of your form. Have a rule that on the submit button if FormName is blank (new form) run the action to set it to xxx+now(). ...

Thanks Shaun!
That would be my concern too. If multiple users are anticipated, you would have to check right before submission and then maybe double check. The likely hood is not real high but there is a chance.

Are you trying to set a specific filename? You can use a function to use field values or create your own naming scheme.
Where are you storing your forms? SharePoint, a file share? There are ways to query SharePoint to get ID numbers and file names,
I guess I need more detail of what exactly you need.

So you want the form to include the SP ID?
I am not sure there is a way to get it in advance for a new item since it is generated when the form is saved.
What you can do I believe it perform two submits. A two step process should be undetectable to the user but accomplish your goals.
When the user submits, have it submit the new form ...

Alex,
Sorry you ran into an issue.
You are getting a 503 error? This is a permissions issue.
Typically with a seperate SQL Server it is easiest to use an SA account. Other wise you need to give the server machine account where the web service is installed sysadmin access to SQL.
You can email me directly if you need additinal ...
