Your error indicates that this is a security issue.
1. Check your permissions.
2. Try creating a full trust form.

Annotations are not directly supported within InfoPath forms--however, you can use code to load the schema into a DOM and then pull the annotations out via selectSingleNode(), etc., and do things with them that way.

Thanks AndersR for sharing this. I've downloaded it and will check it out a bit later.

Go to your data connection wizard, and there's a place where you can Edit SQL... this will allow you to place an ORDER BY statement in the SQL code so that your rows are ordered by the database before you ever get them in the form.

I know with a SQL connection (and I would assume that its the same with Access) that you can go to the data connection, and edit the SQL code that retrieves the data and add the sorting right there... That way the data comes down from the database already sorted.

Sorry--this has nothing to do with Visual Studio or managed code. InfoPath simply won't allow you to dynamically insert controls into the view. If your data source is setup properly you should be able to create quite an elegant solution using conditional formatting on various control types in a repeating section.

Its always arguable which to use. It really comes down to policy and preference.
For example, I might use an attribute like this:
<Product id=''12345''>
<ProductDetail_1/>
<ProductDetail_2/>
</Product>But someone else might recommend:
<Product>
<Id>12345</Id>
<ProductDetail_1/>
...

I find the following help file useful when I'm trying to work through such things. You might already have this on your computer, but if not, here's a link:

Thanks for sharing this. If you ever make the transition to using managed code (i.e. C# or VB.NET) coding date math is much easier!
