Make sure your XPath is right. Also, if you get an object expected error, maybe that means that there were no rows that matched your criteria in the database, which tells you what you need to know.
What exactly is your error and could you give us the code snippet that is performing your query?

Instead of using a completely different form, you could build a new view into your current form. This will be beneficial in a situation like this because you will have the same set of Customer data for any number of views that you wish to add. To add a new view open the View menu, choose Manage Views, and click on Add a new view in bottom of the ...

Haha, I ran into this error when I started with InfoPath too, it took so long to figure out what was going on! It happened to me and by the looks of it to Michel because of copying from code examples and tutorials without really knowing what was going on. Anyway, here's further reference for ...

I think Patrick was refering to a ''Submit by email'' button. It seems like you are submitting to e-mail manually via code - is this correct? To get where Patrick is talking about
1) Add a button
2) Double-click the button to open the properties
3) Choose Submit from the Action drop-down list
4) Click Define Action Properties
5) Choose the ...

Just ask the database if it has one already in there:
var query = ''SELECT id from mytable where id='' + XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode( ''//my:id'' ).text;
If it returns a row, then you know there is already an ID of that value in the database, if it doesn't you're in luck!
Hope this helps!

Ok, now I see. When you said ''edit XML files'' I thought you meant you were reading in a file, displaying it in a textbox field on an InfoPath form, having users edit the raw XML and trying to save it back out. Nevermind, haha.

Ok, I think I see what you're saying now. I think the problem is not that the field is in the 2DS but that it is not repeating. If you put a non-repeating control inside a repeating control each repetition of the control from the 2DS is simply a copy of the first. If you make a change to any of the 2DS controls the change is reflected in every ...

Weird... I've never had this problem, can you provide steps for a reproduction?
