Have you looked into DBXL? It's easy to use and codeless, so perhaps something to consider. Here is a link with more info: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/DBXL.aspx

Not sure about a code solution, but if you use a browser form you won't run into this problem. Perhaps something to consider if thats viable for you.

Hi there,
How large is your matrix? If you're growing past 25x25, I would say you're liking reaching the limits of InfoPath and you're probably better off using something like Excel. Otherwise, if you can switch over to a regular repeating table you might be better performance.

I'm assuming you're using SharePoint workflow correct? Is the workflow starting when you want it to? Be sure that the workflow initiates when the item has changed. Also another thing to make sure is that the proper item is being updated. You also want to make sure that the field is promoted in the form as well.

Are the picture controls in a repeating control? Perhaps you can set the width to something fixed like 500px then leave the height as auto. That might do the trick.

Have you considered using the xpath function userName()? You can set the value of the text box via rules or default value and this wouldn't require writing any custom code.

The translate function should work for your case. Are you saying it removes all the &nbsps but doesn't add a space?

Perhaps the replace() function will work in your case? Just replace all instances of spaces (" ") with semicolons (";"). Hopefully that will work for you.
