Each column has a sting (not table). The rows could get up to 35-40.
I have been playing around with XML a bit but don't know how to get a SharePoint column (populated with a string) exported into a XML file. I also don't know how to import and XML file to populate a repeating table.

Using SharePoint 2010 and InfoPath 2010, I have an InfoPath form WebPart connected to a Query String Filter WebPart. The properties for the WebPart are set such that the submit behavior is 'Open a new form'. When the page is loaded, everything works as expected and the form has the correct value set from the ...

Hilary, you put a smile on my face ). Thank you so much! I totally forgot about this behavior of today() and now() (it's been awhile since I created anything in InfoPath), and the user who reported this as an issue convinced me that it used to automatically update even for existing forms, so I was scratching my head till now.
Happy New ...

Hi! In InfoPath 2003, a lot of us thought today() and now() were broken, because they did exactly what you are wanting them to do now. Somewhere along the way that behavior was changed. I'd remove the default value and add a rule instead, in the FormLoad rules (data tab in the ribbon) to always set the field to today(). That ought to get it ...
