Depending on your environment, email might be able to be sent to the user id. But you've said you tried it. When you say "It does not work at all" what do you mean? You get an error when you try to send the email? The email fails somehow? Does it work in preview but fail in the browser? etc? :) And what happened when you tried the ...

I'd just use a default value for this to count all non-blank instances. See attached sample. Right click the link, save the file locally. Right click the saved file, select design. Preview, then fill in some data to see the count change.

I don't understand the question about "adding fields that are Name, Lookup Types" - can you provide a bit more info on that? Date diff in InfoPath is not easy (without third-party tools like qRules or FormsViewer). Thank you Hillary. Just before you responded I figured out I was doing something really stupid: had the drop-down set to "Matches pattern" instead of "Does not match pattern." It had been a while and I was a little 'rusty' coming back to InfoPath. Best regards and thanks again for responding!
