Last » Re: Problem with displaying repeating text box in an email subject / attachment name, upon form submission I'm glad you got your formula to work! Your text box is bound to a field. You can use that field in your subject line. To see what field your text box is bound to, select the text box and it will show you the name of the field. Of course, you can also use the formula that is working in the text box in the subject line of the email -- I had ... In your rules where you set the value of the fields you wish to auto-populate, are you filtering your data? Let's say that your list box has customer name and you wish to fill a field with the customer phone. When you set your rule, you would first select Set a field's value then select the field where you want the ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-12-2008 Re: Problem with displaying repeating text box in an email subject / attachment name, upon form submission I think I was a little unclear. Would you click the formula editor next to the Subject area, and, when the formula window opens, select the checkbox that says Edit XPath (directions can be found here). Then copy and paste the formula. I would expect it to look more like: concat(my:myFields/my:ddlEngagementType, "Project ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-12-2008 Re: restricting access once submitted\closed As long as your schema doesn't change, adding roles and views shouldn't cause any problems with the already filled-out forms. However, when I checked a drop down list and a list box, both of them had the option of being disabled. You should be able to simply disable them based on the user role in the condition. That will leave them greyed ... Posted to Views (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-11-2008 Re: Can I use a picture as a button to switch a view? Hi: Here are several posts on the subject of picture buttons in InfoPath: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832511 http://spsfactory.blogspot.com/2006/08/picture-buttons-in-infopath-2007.html http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2005/06/08/Create-a-Picture-Button.aspx Let me know if you need more help, okay? Posted to Controls (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-11-2008 Re: Problem with displaying repeating text box in an email subject / attachment name, upon form submission Oh, sure, the double eval formula will work. I'm just perplexed as to why you are getting all your values w/ the reference to your group and I am only getting one of mine. Just because I'm stubborn and curious, could you open that formula again and select Edit XPath and copy and paste that for me? Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-11-2008 Re: Problem with displaying repeating text box in an email subject / attachment name, upon form submission What does your schema look like? Does this return all the different names from your repeating field with the name in it? 'Cause when I tried it in a demo, I just got the first name in my group (which is what I would expect, actually). Here is a post that I read recently that explains a way to concatenate the data from a repeating group: ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-11-2008 Re: Design Advice Please Hello, Catharine: My preference, if this were mine to design, would be to use a single form. I would make sure that Active Directory groups were set up for the the roles, because your forms have a long lifespan. That way you can set up User Roles in your form, and, when those users change (which will happen -- someone leaves the company, someone ... Posted to General (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 07-11-2008 Re: restricting access once submitted\closed I don't think so -- Expression boxes are always read only, so those would be great for your read only view. I would think that if you only want people to be able to read the fields that text boxes or expression boxes would work? Do you have something particular you need to display in that view that can't go into one of those controls?
