I think you can use a formula to get what you need:
substring-before(substring-after(/processing-instruction()[local-name(.) = "mso-infoPathSolution"], 'href="'), '"')
gets me the location of my published form, regardless of where it is published.

In reference to your earlier questions:
I think that at first, you were not using the correct Changed event -- you'd attached it to a group higher than the one you needed. It seems in your post of 08-12-2008 04:29 PM you are attached to the correct changed event, that for your repeating group "Person".
The event will run every time ...

You can use conditional formatting on your repeating table to do this. I've posted a sample form here. Download it, open it in design mode and preview it. You can add rows and if you enter the same value in the first field in two rows, one will hide. If you look at the table's conditional formatting, you'll see I used preceding-sibling ...

Hi, Ben:
Okay, your "my:Order" group -- is that a repeating group? When you say selectNodes, you can use that to bring back all instances of that group. So you are looping through all the instances of that group and popping up a message with the group's name (thus the single dialog box with "my:Order"). Before you change ...

Hi, Lil:
Are you still having trouble with your cascading list boxes? I've posted a sample here that demonstrates the concept. Download it, open it in design view and preview it and see if it helps you, okay?

Hi -- I have a blog post on this here, but the samples are C# or jscript. Are you already using VB for other code in yoru form? If not, you may want to look at the C# sample and give it a try! If you need to use VB, let me know.

Did you add as part of the data validation the condition field is not blank? I think if you have field is not blank AND field does not match pattern you'll not have that asterisk.
The best resource I've found for data validation patterns in InfoPath is this forum... If someone else knows of a great link or site, please post!

Hello, and welcome!
Data validation should work for this:
Right click on the field and select Data Validation
If you want the user to be able to leave the field blank, set the first condition to field is not blank
Set a condition to field does not match pattern and select Select a pattern
In the Custom Pattern area, you can create a ...

Hey, just a thought -- on all of the nodes where you are using [1] to grab the node, you are grabbing the first one.... you could try [last()] to get the last node...I'm not sure off hand if [last()] is one of those "not allowed in a browser form" functions, but may be worth a try....

Hi, Catharine:
I have not been able to run code using rules that changes the main DOM of the form -- which is what you'd be doing if you called that code from a rule. I know of one series of posts on this where they worked around it by changing a hidden field's value in a rule and then putting the code in the Changed event for that field, ...
