• Re: InfoPath 2003 - jump to section in form

I tend to go to MSDN for the InfoPath specific stuff, particularly here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb230145.aspx I also like W3Schools a lot for general javascript/xml/xpath etc. guidance: http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp Glad you are pleased with your results!

  • Re: From Sharepoint List to Access DB

No, you shouldn't need to wild card. I'm sure you checked your DB for the last name/ first name combo you are trying, yes? Perhaps try copying directly from the DB and into the query fields to make sure that you should be getting a result (I always start testing at the simplest level....)

  • Re: From Sharepoint List to Access DB

Hey there -- I'm so glad the forum has been of value to you! As to your current problem, are the fields that you are entering the query information of last name, first name bound to the appropriate query fields in your data source? When you create a form from a db, you get a group of query fields and group of data fields -- you want to make ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 - jump to section in form

Hi, and welcome: Instead of a link, I would use a button and tweak out the formatting to make it look like a link (remove borders and shading and change the font color and underline). I'd add another field to my data source (or a secondary data source, if needed) called something like ShowHide. The button could have a rule to set a ...

  • Re: Field Becomes Locked After Submitting Form To SharePoint Library Then Re-Opening Form

Hi, Jonathan: InfoPath 2007 has a logic inspector that will show you rules, but for InfoPath 2003, I would suggest the following: Extract your form files (you can do this from the File menu when the form is in design mode) Open the manifest.xsf with Notepad or another text editor Search for ruleSet (or scroll toward the bottom of the ...

  • Re: How to get the attached file out from task form

Are you comfortable with C#? You won't need everything in that sample in the FormCode.cs. I'd create an onAfterChange event on the attachement control and add two of the methods to your form code -- DecodeAttachment and GetAttachmentName. You can pass DecodeAttachment the text value of your file attachment node to get back a byte array, ...

  • Re: How to get the attached file out from task form

Sorry, Chris! I should have been more precise. No custom control needed, just add the normal InfoPath file attachment control. After you read the contents off, decode into a new file and save someplace, you can set the text value back to blank so that you aren't storing that bulky file. You could even use some conditional formatting to decide ...

  • Re: How to get the attached file out from task form

Hi, Chris: As far as why the name turns to gibberish when the attachment is opened from InfoPath and what to do about it -- I don't know that one. However, if you write the file off someplace and exchange it with a link, that problem may go away. Here is what I would suggest. In the OnAfterChange event of your file attachment control, you ...

  • Re: Dynamically adding images to InfoPath forms

Hi -- I'm not entirely sure what you mean by dynamically adding an image -- but the sample here demonstrates how to copy an attachment out of a form to store elsewhere (this example uses SharePoint) and this link from Microsoft explains how to encode / decode base64 (which is what images and file attachements are stored as in an IP form). ...

  • Re: Add a field's value to a Repeating Table field programically.

Well -- I'm afraid it took me quite a bit longer to get back to this, but so that it is posted somewhere, here is a sample that gets sampledata.xml using the 2007 object model: XPathDocument sampleData = new XPathDocument(this.Template.OpenFileFromPackage("sampledata.xml")); XPathNavigator newGroup = ...
