In your code, it looks like you are trying to create an element called EF-CONFIRM-ASSET-ASSET-ID between EF-CONFIRM-ASSET-ASSET-NAME and EF-CONFIRM-ASSET-QUETION-1, but your screenshot doesn't show a field with that name between those two fields. Elements must be added in the order they are defined in the schema, and you can't add ...

Actually, all of Praveen's posts so far (except his response to you) have been links to his blog on very old threads.
Praveen, if you're going to engage in shameless self-promotion, at least browse through some of the recent posts and provide some constructive help.

I'm saying this for the third time: Do not respond to this thread by e-mail. Go to the InfoPathDev.com website and post your replies there. I will not respond to any more of your comments until you do that.

I looked at your form, but I don't see what you're trying to accomplish with position(). The way you have it there, yes, it will always evaluate to 1. position() is typically used in filtering XPath expressions, and evaluating its value does not usually yield a meaningful result.

Two words: relative XPath.

You don't need any code to accomplish this. Just add a textbox to your form, add one button with a rule to increase that textbox's field by 1, and another button with a rule to decrease the field's value by 1. All set!

I managed to find the screenshot you e-mailed, but I need a picture of your data source, like this one:
you can attach images by clicking the Options tab when you're replying to this thread.

I'm pretty sure this is not a datatype issue. Hence the term "non-data type errors" :-)

Ranjeet, it appears you responded to the notification e-mail and not to this forum thread. Please respond to this thread on the forum (on the website) and not by responding to the notification e-mail.
It appears your screenshot did not come through either. Please attach it here so that we can see it.

a is a variable in your code, but selectSinbleNode() has no idea what a is. If you want to use a in your XPath, you have to concatenate it in:
Set oLastRow = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("//my:myFields/my:Addrulegroup/my:addrulegroup/my:addruletable[" & a & "]")
