So I've come across an issue. I created a few Person/Group Fields within Infopath. When I go to that list and switch to Datasheet View Mode I am unable to set a value and I have no options listed in the dropdown of the field.
However the Person/Group Fields I created within the Sharepoint List are working fine.
Is this a bug in Infopath?

Currently i'm working on an approval form. An user fill in the form and his or her manager has to approve the form.
In order to do this I need the manager value on the form. Because i work in a Office 365 environment i can't use the userprofileservice.asmx that's why I made an custom list with al the user and the manager ...

So I tested out a form that I created. I originally had 9 People Picker Fields on the Form. I removed all of them just to test out the speed. The form only took 5 seconds to load without them.
I then added just 1 People picker field to see the difference. After adding it, it went from 5 seconds to 35 seconds to load.

First things first: Template is saved in SharePoint 2010 library. It is being opened by users in InfoPath 2010 and 2013. The users who are receiving the error have upgraded to Office 2013 (InfoPath 2013)

I tried all the steps in the reply above and almost got it working accept that somehow it is adding submitter email at the end of WorkEmail field on submit.
any way to get rid of that???

Yup! I just check the rule set ID, and if I can't find it in the manifest, delete the whole rule set. I don't know why we sometimes end up with these orphan rule sets, but just remove them. After you save the manifest, right click and select Design to see if it opens back up in designer, then File > Save As to pack back up as an XSN.

Save this file locally, right click and select design to open in design mode. I've made a guess as to the correct filter. :)
