• Re: Rule firing

Is this a rule in the form's open rules? Or one that is on a field? If on a field, the rule will fire when the field changes, if the conditions on the rule evaluate to true. If you have conditions on your rule you may want to remove them and add them back in, one at a time, to see which one is causing unexpected results. Another thing I ...

I am afraid I do not know of a way to do this without code.

  • Re: Setting Email rules based on field values

Did you set up an email submit connection in your form? Is it part of your submit rules or being used by the form on submit? If you aren't getting a pop-up showing info about the outgoing email and asking if you want to send it, then there is a problem with your email submit, not the address....

Hi -- check this post which has a VB.NET sample: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/8172/29619.aspx#29619 As far as disabling the area where the user fills in the value, you could always make it read only if it isn't blank. This does mean the user has to get it right the first time....

  • Re: Setting Email rules based on field values

Hi, and welcome: When you create a rule, one possible action is to set a field's value. When you do that, if you don't select the fx button to type in the formula box, you can just enter text, no quotes. If you are in the formula editor, you'll need to use quotes. I'm not sure if that answers your question or not! :) When you ...

  • Fun with Sequential Form IDs, SQL and Sprocs!

I may be exagerating when I say 'fun'. Forgive me for that. There are a variety of ways that you can create a unique, human readable form Id. This blog post is for those of you who prefer not to have to write or buy a web service, and don't want to write more than a little code. I'm warning you -- you will have to write some ...

  • Re: get-Role() how to remove?

Hi, and welcome: My guess is that this is conditional formatting. As such, it would be based on the control, not the field, so that is why the Logic Inspector doesn't show anything. The ViewContext: CTRL122 is the control id, that shouldn't have anything to do with this issue. If you look at the conditional formatting for the sections ...

  • Re: xsn error

Hi, and welcome: This happened to me recently when I changed the data structure of a form and then closed it when there were still errors in one view. You've removed the references to ChangeSection1_5 -- so what are your new errors? For me, I had several controls that I ended up removing from manifest.xsf before I was able to reopen my form ...
