• Re: Transaction

So when you publish the form and fill it out, the data is not saved to the database, is that correct? I understand what you are saying about the implicit transaction and rollback, but in my experience InfoPath only does this the first time it makes the database call, to generate the schema, then it runs the procedure again, without the rollback.

  • Re: Transaction

Actually, the post I refer to, the second entry, he refers to the behavior of calling the stored procedure twice, once to generate schema. By "IP Query" I meant "InfoPath Query". I apologize for being unclear. What happens when you run your form and it actually calls the stored procedure? Is your data saved to the database?

I do know that when IP queries, the first query call will be to create the schema, the second query call with actually execute the sproc. This post has a little info on that.... When you test the form, does your sproc execute?

  • Re: Change view depending on criteria of drop down list

Just as a clarification -- default values are a field-based setting, not control-based. So the fields, which you see in your data source task pane, have default values, rules, validation and sometimes programming events associated with them. The controls, which you see in a view, on the form canvas, have things like size properties, conditional ...

  • Re: how to recive data and submit data into database by using infopath?

Why don't you create the new form based off your database table? Then you'll be able to query and submit data to the database with your form. InfoPath supports this wil SQL or Access databases.... This article has more information -- the tutorial is for Access, but would be easy to adapt to SQL.

  • Re: to recover the value of a field

Are you using InfoPath 2007? If so, you can right click the field in the data source task pane and copy the xpath....

  • Re: Button to copy and paste a field on an InfoPath form to the clipboard

I'd guess the "//" before my:myfields should be "/". The object required error means your code to the right of the = sign in your set statement is not returning a value. Generally, this is caused by incorrect XPath.....

  • Re: At least one check box required

Hi, and welcome: Well, with data validation, you can add conditions to each checkbox. But that would merely give you a bunch of checkboxes outlined in red until one was selected and then they all are valid. I read an idea here the other day -- add a section to your form, make it tiny, type a bold, red asterisk in it and conditionally hide the ...

  • Re: Time control

Hi, and welcome: If you are filling field, and it is of a datetime data type, there should be a format button under the text box properties that you can set to not display the date but to display the time. If what you want is a text value of just the time, you can use substring-after to get everything after 'T' in now. There is a sample ...
