Hi -- I'm not familiar with the '255 limit' that you mention, and I've not seen the query too complex error before, but I do have a thought as to how to force the user to submit the smaller chunks of data. Use separate views for the blocks you want to have filled out and submitted, then add buttons that say 'Next' or some ...

Hi:
I would create a Print View. Add all of the items on the regular view of the form in sections that are conditionally hidden if the checkbox is not selected. Does that make sense?

In your email connection, when the form is submitted via email, is it also included as an attachment? Check the email message and see if has an attachment. If it does, could you provide more specific information about the error you received when you tried to open the form?

InfoPath can be a real struggle for power Excel users, too -- probably because they are so accustomed to being able to manipulate their data at will. Requiring a structure for that data (which a form tool *will* do!) often requires a bit of re-programming. And I do understand his frustration -- but I think that some of it stems from seeing the ...

This article has some info on using Excel data in an IP form (with Access as a medium between them) but I know that isn't your aim here. Not to sound like a company shill, but we sell a product that provides a 'one row from your spreadsheet = one InfoPath form' result -- you can find a demo video here. The tool itself is available here.

Usually when there is an error message, there will be button on the message window that says 'Show Details'. Get the user to click that button and provide you with the details for the error that says he needs to contact the administrator.....
