Here you have hit a wall with what comes out of the box with out of the box InfoPath functionality -- you won't know how many you need of the repeating group you'd be copying the 'Device Name' into until the user is done adding the devices, right?
I still think that schema-wise, though, I'd only have one group for device. That ...

What this tells us then:
As soon as I change it back to a textbox, it populates fine. It's already returning the correct string from the database, but for some reason its not mapping it correctly to the pre-defined dropdown values.
Is that the values in the drop down do not precisely match the ...

Good to know -- I'll see if we can replicate this bug.

Do you have any rules or default values set on the field the drop down is bound to? If you are using IP 2007, you can right click the field in the data source task pane and select Logic Inspector to see what might be changing the field's value....

From Office Online:
If the user is a member of several groups and you are assigning user roles that are based on a group, InfoPath checks the member list of each group in the order that the group is listed in the Manage User Roles dialog box. I think you may need to reassociate xml files to open with IP. You can do this by opening InfoPath, then, under Tools / Options, select the checkbox under Microsoft Office under the General tab that tells IP to check to see if it ...

Your command looks right. I know one of our testers uses Vista, so that shouldn't be the problem. Try a different qRules command in your form -- let's make sure the .dll is still there. Or try using SortTabl instead of SortTable -- the misspelling of the command should trigger an error, which will let us know that qRules is still in your ...

Actually, I haven't run into this before. I've build database bound forms with multiple views and have not had an error on submit. You aren't trying to modify the primary key in any of your rules are you? Could some other app change the data in the DB between the time you opened the form and the time where you tried to submit?

Hi -- do you mean a CSV of the data in the form? I imagine it can be done in code... but I'd also guess the form would end up having to be full trust to write a file to the local machine....
