• Re: Missing query results when two tables are joined

Hi-- What query are you using where you aren't getting the results you expect? Is it the main data connection query that was created when you created the form off the database? Can you provide a little more detail about what you are trying to do? Or are you filling in the query fields for your main data connection and then running that ...

  • Re: Copy text/data from repeating section to repeating section

Hi! Actually, you can use the same technique to copy from one main data source group to another. The code will need to be modified a bit, of course. var Vehicles would be like var vehicleList in syntax, with Vehicles using the xpath to the group you want to copy from and vehicleList using the xpath to the group you want to copy to....

  • Re: How to retrieve data from form published to a network folder?

Select the data connection in Tools / Data Connections that is the connection to your Access Database. Click the Modify button. Walk through the Data connection wizard again. When you get to the last screen, where you can enter the name of the data connection, look for the Enable Submit checkbox. Is it disabled? If so, read all the information ...

  • Re: How to retrieve data from form published to a network folder?

Hi -- To create a form that submits to an Access (or SQL) database, you have to select that database when you first create the form (in the Based On section of the dialog box). However, there are various reasons why, even if you did this, submit may be disabled for your form. This information will be present in the last window of the database ...

  • Re: Repeating Tables and DB

Hi -- set a rule on the field bound to the non-repeating text box. The rule would have the action to populate the value in a field, and you'd select the field in the repeating table that you want the value populated to. Then, for the value, select the fx button and select your initial field that is bound to the non-repeating text box. I've ...

  • Something Nice for the Newbies

A recent conversation (okay, a conversation over a month ago, it has been a busy spring) with an InfoPathDev user reminded me of these wonderful tutorials on MSDN. Please, please don't be afraid of MSDN. I know there is scary object model blah blah this and method and properties blah blah that hanging about, but really, you can do these and ...

  • Re: Sorting a drop down list from SQL data source

This is just a plain SQL data connection? When you walk through the data connection wizard, you have the option to click the Modify Table button to the right of the window that displays your table and columns in a tree structure. When you click the Modify Table button, you can specify sort options. You also have the option to edit the SQL ...

  • Re: Infopath with MYSQL 2005 Express - HEEEEEELLLP!

All tables in SQL will need a primary key. What are the relationships between your tables? How did you define those relationships in InfoPath when you added the child table to the parent?

  • Re: Infopath with MYSQL 2005 Express - HEEEEEELLLP!

Actually, you should be able to set the child table to have multiple rows.... especially if the relationship between the tables has been defined correctly on the server side.... With the parent table selected in the data source wizard (in the window that says Data source structure) after setting the parent table to not have multiple records, you ...
