• Re: Expression with attributes

Weird, I found the same thing athttp://www.w3.org/TR/xpath quote:the preceding axis contains all nodes in the same document as the context node that are before the context node in document order, excluding any ancestors and excluding attribute nodes and namespace nodes But, I did get a sample form running. If you e-mail me your e-mail address (it ...

  • Re: VBscript error for script on OnAfterChange Event

This code is causing an infinite loop. When you use ''objServerName.text = ucase(objServerName.text)'' it calls the OnAfterChange event of that node (which is itself) and causes recursion. Greg Collins has written a HowTo on this issue, it can be found here:http://infopathdev.com/howto/tips/default.aspx?i=3551199a23ac41f3a155b3a2ffc412c5 You ...

  • Re: Expression with attributes

Marco, Sorry for the mistake, but I did some experimenting in InfoPath and got the following XPath to work: not(. = preceding::my:NameOfElement/@my:NameOfAttribute) You are doing this via the 'Filter Data' and evaluating 'The Expression', correct? I just setup a sample form using the above XPath and it populated my drop-down list with unique ...

  • Re: Mixing VBScript and JScript

You can't use both languages simultaneously, but to use VBScript instead of JScript follow these steps: 1. Open your form in Design mode 2. Open the Tools menu and click Form Options. 3. Click the Advanced Tab 4. Near the bottom there will be a drop-down list that you can choose VBScript. 5. Click OK. If the drop-down list described above is ...

  • Re: Generate Lines

Yeah, this would probably be really hard to do in InfoPath. If really wanted to play hacker you might be able to do something with a 1px by 1px repeating section that you dynamically repeat horizontally and vertically to create a Cartesian plane. It'd be tough and I don't know if even doable, just brainstorming. This is kind of how you make graphs ...

  • Re: Exporting InfoPath data (HELP!)

Since you are new to InfoPath and deciding to dump it anyway, I'd just do it with the convertor app. It's possible in InfoPath but you will probably be able to do it easier in VB.NET since that is your forte. I'm not sure what data you are looking for - is it a secondary data source, or a ''filled out'' copy of the form with stored data that user ...

That blog is an awesome resource for what you're trying to accomplish. Could you post the code that you've written so far so we can see where your problems are and get you going in the right direction? --------------- Matt Faus InfoPath Dev Texas

  • Re: Filtering Secondary Data Source

Well, you could just grab it in your code, like this: var sNodeText = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode( ''/my:myFields/my:IdField'' ).text; Then, construct the query string with the variable: oSecondary.QueryAdapter.Command = ''SELECT * FROM customTable WHERE id > '' + sNodeText; Be sure to substitute appropriate XPath for your ...

You can do custom SQL commands, but not that way. Check out this thread for a code example: http://infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1612 --------------- Matt Faus InfoPath Dev Texas
