• Re: how to get the filename of a xsn file

So, you're saving it to a folder and then having people double click on it to open, right? Then, you want to show the filename somewhere in the form. Is that right? I think Jimmy's suggestion to use the processing-instruction might work. Search for that. There should be a blog post that describes how to do it.

  • Re: Sporadic Access Denied Error

The cache is a common issue and it's good to see you tried that. You don't have to run the command line, though. You can just launch InfoPAth from start and remove the form in question there. The other common issue with C# coded forms is trust. For domain trust forms with code make sure that all users have the ShP site added to their ...

  • Re: Able to Send report with blank 'Data Required' field

Hi Ricky, The reason you are able to send it is because your code doesn't check. If you get rid of the code and just use out-of-box rules and submit data connection, it will prevent submits if data is missing. The File->Save event, on the other hand, allows saving even if the form has validation errors. Remove the code. Add an ...

  • Re: How to add dynamic fields in Sharepoint List through InfoPath?

Sounds like the correct solution is to add two rows for it and not new columns (aka fields). You can setup your form to submit twice and create two records. SharePoint List forms are severely limited - they don't support repeating structures. If you want a repeating group, create the form in InfoPath as a blank form and publish it to a Forms ...

  • Re: Filter formulas lose the current() function.

There are situations where InfoPath will not correctly suggest current() when selecting the main data source as a comparison in a filter on a secondary data source, but I've never heard of it removing them once added. Try to find a good set of steps that reproduce the problem and we'll investigate.

  • Re: Simple Stupid InfoPath 2010 Questions

Hi JohnT and welcome, Believe it or not, you have discovered some of the limitations inherent in InfoPath's out-of-box support for databases. Those "gaps" were the main reason we developed a generic Web Service back in 2004 for connecting to SQL. It's called DBXL and will allow you to add fields easily and roundtrip data types ...

  • Free Sample: Copying Repeating Data

This sample form shows two ways to copy repeating data from a secondary data source into your form's Main data source. Secondary data sources can be defined in InfoPath Designer from the Data Connections dialog. You can have pull data from a SharePoint list, another InfoPath form (XML file) on your network, tables in a SQL Database or a Web ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 populating dropdown from SharePoint WSS

Thanks for your support. Have you tried to open the form up in the designer and click on Tools->Data Connections? You can add the connection to the XML file there and if you are still using IP2003 you don't have to worry about caching since it isn't supported. Keep in mind that you need to learn a little bit about how InfoPath works. ...

  • Re: Infopath Form in Outlook Keeps Prompting for Submit

Hi EbonyMB, Your Submit logic is probably not configured correctly. Have you looked at how the Submit button is configured in the InfoPath Designer? Right click the form template (should be the file ending in XSN) and choose Design. Right click the button and choose properties (InfoPath 2007) or select it and click on Manage Rules in the ribbon ...

If you don't want to write code, try the qRules trial. It includes a command to calculate Random numbers. :)
