Last » Re: Form design incorporating access to a database Hi: So, if you aren't going to write custom code, if you want to submit to Access, you have to base your form off the database you intend to submit to. However, you can add additional 'ordinary' fields to the resulting data source (for information that you just want stored in the form). You can only add new fields to the very root of ... You are simply wanting to display the information for a particular asset tag (no submit)? Do you need to also store the resulting information in an XML file? If all you need is to display the information from your secondary data sources, you can add repeating sections to your form bound to those data ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 08-28-2009 Re: Updating a list box after entering information into a secondary form You need to run the query again that holds the data that is populating that list box. Probably the simplest is to add a button with an action to run a query (the one for the data source that returns the info you use in that list box) and make sure your form includes some help text so that users know to click it after creating a new ... The promoted property information is stored in the manifest.xsf file. If you save your form as source files and open manifest.xsf with a text editor, you'll find them toward the bottom of the file: <xsf:listProperties> ... Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 08-28-2009 Re: Font color on disabled controls Yes, that is a downfall. Is your drop down populated manually? Or does it use a seconday data source? If it uses a secondary data source, you could select the field from the 2ds, and filter it so that you get the data field that matches the display with the related selected value in your drop down. If your drop down is populated manually, I ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 08-27-2009 Re: Font color on disabled controls Hi-- Instead of disabling the control, you could hide it completely using conditional formatting and also have an expression box on the form bound to the same field. Use the opposite condition to hide the expression box. So, for example, if your user role called 'Admin' can use the drop down, you'd format that to hide if the user ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 08-27-2009 Re: Populating a Multiple Selection Listbox I finally understand! Thanks for being patient, I really didn't get what you wanted to do. You need to change your data source. You can't use a formula for the display values in the list box. I'm guessing from the name of your vwAccessWithEmployeeName datasource that it might be a view -- add another column to your SQL view that ... Posted to Workflow (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 08-27-2009 Re: Populating a Multiple Selection Listbox Thanks, that makes it easier. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it sounds to me as if what you are trying to do is populate field46 in your Main Data Source with all the UserId values from the vwAccessWithEmployeeName data source. Unfortunately, InfoPath won't do that out of the box. Really, though, if all you need is to make sure the ... I would have just entered text in the expression boxes. I know, when you add a new expression box, it looks like you can only use a form field for the value, but that isn't the case. Just put quotes around your text: "MyText" And your expression box will have a text value. That way you don't have to have those extra fields ...
