Since you are using JScript, all variables use ''var''. That is why when you tried to define a variable as ''XDocument'' it failed.
Since you are getting an object back, that is a good start. But all that means is that you have a valid data connection named ''Produkte''.
Now you need to find out where the problem is coming from. Keep in mind ...
-
nodeName will never have slashes in it. You should check for .nodeName == ''my:Employee''.
-
From the task pane you access: window.external.Window.XDocument
Once you've got this handle to the XDocument, you can work it just like you would inside your form's code.
Keep in mind that you might not be able to do everything you want going from the task pane to the form code. If you can, then this will save you needing to go Full Trust.

That's cool. So do you have this all resolved now?
-
Perhaps what you are looking for is the OnContextChange event.
-
Normally, to accomplish this if..then feature you would use filters. . . . Something like:
give me all the contacts where the teamsite = selected category
-or-
SharePointContacts/TeamSite[. = SelectedCategory]/Contacts/Contact
Obviously the XPath above would need to be modified to your particular schemas, but it should give you a rough idea.
-
The xpath should probably go in whatever node you are using to sum the values. Most likely as a default value formula.
-
Sorry... ''XPath_to'' is meant to be replaced by the xpath leading up to the SelectedemployeeDepartment node, not to be typed in as is. This type of fill-in-the-blank response is common, and once you know about it, it's easy to spot it and do the right thing.

Yes, the DOM is readonly during that event. To modify the DOM, you must use the change event.
