Hi Tosh.
Sorry i did not get to this sooner.
You can submit to SQL without redesigning your form.
Check out the web services available from qdabra.com.
You are describing their typical solution architecture.

I would try to republish it.
Another trick is to extract the source files.
Then in the source files right click on the manifest and select design. This will recompile the form and should fix any corruption, etc.

Hey Keith.
i do not think there are any tools or kits available.
What i have done is taken screen shots of rules, properties, etc while I have described the flow of the form, etc.
I think the manifest would probably not work for most people, they would need to learn it via the UI.
In the next version of InfoPath, it is supposed ...

Hey Catharine.
Typically this can be really simple.
Just use a mailto hyperlink.
You can lookup all of the parameters for a "mailto:" but you can put subject, to, cc, body etc.
This can work really well to generate an email template from a button click.
Otherwise you would need to use code if you have a need which is more elaborate.

You might have use for Qdabra's migration tool.
It can migrate templates and forms and keep them in sync.

InfoPath only works with the corresponding version of Outlook.
Here are your options.
Use code to send mail via SMTP.
Use server side email such as with MOSS and browser based forms or Qdabra's Web Services.
-
You should be able to do this in InfoPath and using formulas and tables.
To get an excel spreadsheet you would need to use frames and have the form and the spreadsheet next to each other or something.
-
Best practice is to create a submit data connection to the Sharepoint library and then have a button for submit or save.
You can enable a save button in form options under the browser tab I believe.

Create a new view in your form
Copy your entire view to the new view.
Go into view properties and set the view to read only.
Then go into form options and open rules and make a conditional rule.
If the last field is not blank
Switch to new view.
That way if a person tries to open a completed form they get the read only view.
