You're absolutely right that this should work, but I think what you're experiencing is the intended design. Perhaps a workaround that will work is to use filters. Create a secondary data connection to the list and then filter all of the entries where that field is not blank. Hopefully that will work for you!

Hi there,
This definitely isn't possible out of the box. There may be a way to do this via code, but I wouldn't advise this. If you're using a browser form, there is a max number of postbacks that the session will allow. Doing a refresh every 30sec will exceed this limit pretty quickly. I think the refresh ...

I think it will be fairly difficult to isolate the browser close event and display a prompt for the user to save. At least I've never heard of someone being able to do this. The client will prompt on an application close but of course that would mean using the client instead. Sorry couldn't be more help.

I think what you are looking for is the embeded picture control. Insert your picture control and select Included in the form. The difference is that now the control will attach the picture to the form and it will display the image for you as well. Hope this helps!

You can use filters to do this. The basic idea is you need a secondary data connection to the library/list itself. Then you create a filter on the dropdown such that you only display values that are not present in that secondary data connection. If your scenario is only limited to within the form instance, then it should be ...

InfoPath sometimes does some weird stuff with pasted text. Did you try copying it into notepad first then pasting into InfoPath? Try using a multiline text box instead if you don't need any formatting.

You'll need to create a secondary data connection to the SharePoint list in your form. Retrieve the current user name using the userName function. With these pieces of data, you can now create a formatting rule on your section that will hide conditionally based on whether the user name exists in that list. Hope that ...

Well there are several ways you can do this. You have have a specific view that only displays the read-only version of the time in a calculated value control or something like that. Then the combo boxes won't appear at all. You could also put the controls in a section then create a formatting rule to hide that section based ...

If there is a field which indicates whether the branch has responded to that product, then you can apply a filter to the dropdown that only displays entries where that field is equal to a certain value.
Here is a tutorial video that talks about filters some more:

Its likely that one of the functions is simply not supported on the server. Try breaking down your formula to only include one function at a time then publish. Keep adding functions until it breaks. That will help narrow down that pesky function. Good luck!
