Hi --
Check out this blog post by the InfoPath Team. It has some code samples that I believe do what you want.

I'm afraid I don't quite understand. When you say 'all request row items' do you mean you want them in a concatenated form, like 'item a, item b, item c'? Or do you mean you want to create another repeating table in your main data source that has an instance of the repeating group for each item?
If you need to copy ...

If you can access the table in SSMS using your windows authentication, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to access it from InfoPath. Have you tried recreating the data connection?

I'm sorry to be slow -- can you tell me what you mean by 'attempt to join the deduction description'? Are you talking about adding it to the repeating table that shows the deduction codes? Or are you talking about your data source?

If you want cascading dropdowns to filter correctly in a repeating table or section, your best bet would be to use a data source for those dropdowns that connects projects and sections. Are your desired values stored in a ...

The date in the XML needs to be in yyyy-MM-dd format. You'll need to change your XML files.... try opening one in notepad, changing the format, saving, and then opening with your template -- you'll see the date will then pass validation.
Of course, if you are okay with your date not being a Date data type in your form, you can also change ...
