Secondary data sources in InfoPath are never saved with the XML. The stored data will always only be that in the main data source. So if you have controls on your form bound to secondary data sources, and the user makes changes to the values in those controls -- those changes will not be saved.
You may want to consider a different design. Does ...

Hi --
I may not understand exactly what you are trying to do, here, so please correct me if I've misunderstood. It sounds like you want to create a DB bound form for updating your inventory table? Or is it that you simply want to be able to display all the existing items in your inventory table in a form?
The trick is making sure the query ...

Ah, my error! Try this download. In the details, it sounds like this is the one with the IP 2007 code behind support....

Visual Studio Tools for Applications installs with Office. If it doesn't show up in the Installed Products list, it seems like something must have gone wrong with the install. Have you restarted Visual Studio?

You are looking under Visual C# (or VB.Net?) If you open Visual Studio 2005, and select Help > About Visual Studio, do you see Visual Studio Tools for Office in your Installed Products list?

Hmmm. It is odd, I followed the same steps with a simple table for testing, and do not get an error, even if I don't have my form set to update. It sounds like you have a work-around (manually modify the existing XML), but I hope you don't have too many existing forms that have to be updated.
One thing you could check would be the max ...

If it isn't propriatary, can I see:
the template
an xml created from the old template
an xml create from the current template
If not, I understand, not everyone is building stuff they can post publically. If you can, there is a field under the Options tab where you can attach a file or zip folder.

If you've saved as source files, simply right click on the file called 'manifest.xsf' and select Design. Your form will open in design mode. Then, from the File menu, select Save As. You can then save as an ...

Hi -- I'm afraid I've gotten kind of lost reading this thread.... Are both of you using code? The same code?
For some reason, I recall that with SQL bound forms, the New Record action is one of those special actions that you only have for SQL bound forms, and it may be difficult to replicate in code or with other rules.

You can simply add fields in the data source task pane -- no need to create and delete controls. Open the data source task pane, select your main data source. Right click the group you want to add the field to and select Add. Enter a meaningful name for the field, select the appropriate data type and select OK and you are done!
