The idea for SubmitToSharePoint List was that it would be used to submit to a list, not a form library. I don't know of a way that you can modify a list's new command to open a form template instead of creating a new list item, but I imagine it could be done.....Are you experienced with SharePoint designer at all?

Hi -- I'm a little confused by what you are trying to do. You have a SharePoint list, and you've set your form to use qRules to submit data to that list? Now you want the 'new item' menu function in your list to open your InfoPath template? Wouldn't it be simpler to use a form library, publish your template to it, submit ...

Actually, the blog post itself shows a date of 2006. I think that the IP team blog has updated their theme to always show '2010' -- just a wee bit confusing given that they have published posts starting with IP 2003! I actually have tried this technique and never been successful, though -- don't know if I have an issue or the post ...

You need something that will let you create an Adobe form from an InfoPath form. The Adobe form tool, to my knowledge, is called LiveCycle Designer. According to this documentation, you can base a LiveCycle form off an InfoPath template, but since one would have to spend the money for the LiveCycle designer software anyway, it seems like it would ...

I did a little research on this, to see if there was a way to use a 'not equals' or an 'or' type statement with owssvr.dll. I didn't find one, but I did find a suggestion that is working for me when I test. Create a calulated column that will return one value if the row is one you want to use, another value if it isn't. In ...

I'd add a rule to the field 'responsible'. The rule would have a condition -- If 'responsible' contains '#'. The action for the rule would be to set a field's value. The field would be 'responsible'. Click the fx button next to the area for the value, and enter a formula like this: ...

Is it returned in that order? Like #24Hilary? On one of my ShP sites, with a look up, I got back number#name, so 24#Hilary. In that case, it is pretty easy to use substring-after to get what you want.

Hi, Graham:
I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. I take it the name is returned in the secondary data source bound to the field with the dropdown? Can you just add a rule to the field bound to the drop down to set the field bound to the text box to the correct value from the secondary data source?
That is, if your drop down is ...

Hi --
Does the new list have more than one item in it? I think that unless it has more than one item when you create the connection, InfoPath interprets it as 'non-repeating' and generates the schema accordingly....

In general, I have found that if I add the new section to my form and copy / paste the repeating table into it, all of my conditional formatting and rules get updated correctly. As with any major change, save a backup copy of your form first, so it is easy to revert if something goes awry.
