Hi,
Perhaps this tutorial is what you need.

InfoPath allows different form types. Unfortunately, one of those form types, the SharePoint list form, has its schema locked to the corresponding SharePoint list, which means that you cannot add/delete fields. You would need to add/delete columns in the SharePoint list, in order for those to be modifiable in the form. Does that make sense?

Hello,
In order to use qRules along with code, some extra steps are needed. Please take a look at this document, and let us know if you have any questions Thank you!

Hi Dean,
Can you provide info on your data schema and the command used? If possible, attach the form via the Options tab, so we can also take a look at the mapping.
Thanks.

Hi Dean,
The Insert command allows insertion of rows in a repeating table. I see your /child path is my:Metrics/my:Metric, which isn't a repeating node. My first guess is that's the reason why the command is failing.
Are you trying to insert my:Metric or a row in the repeating my:Metrics?

Hi Trevor,
Yes, a repeating table can table more than one default row. Here's an MSDN article with the step by step. Hope it helps!

I'm sorry you've run into this issue. When you say 300 fields, do you mean that your database mapping consists of 300 fields mapped to the SQL tables? DAT opens in InfoPath, and there are some performance limits. It sounds like that's exactly what happening in your scenario, with the tool freezing.

You would typically need to use some custom code to accomplish this.
We use qRules; you can watch a video demo here. Good luck!
