• Using Rules to Update Fields in a Table Row

While working today on my example form, Populating Table Row After Selection (Rules), I had an epiphany—a possible way of accomplishing this without resorting to manually editing the XSL or using code. The concept was to create a Support secondary data source with a RowPosition node who's soul purpose was to store the current row. In ...

  • Re: position within repeating table

Hi Alex and welcome to our infant forum! Please take a look at the Asset Tracking sample that ships with InfoPath. It has examples of how to do this using buttons that look like labels. It's kind of tricky but works pretty well. Greg actually created the Asset Tracking solution over 2 years ago, so he may have more comments for you later.

  • position within repeating table

I need to know how I can determine the position within a repeating table on the screen. I have a repeating address table and I would like to use buttons in the header to fill some of the repeating fields. Anyone done this?

  • SharePoint List Adapter Only Returns 100 Items

SharePoint list adapters are really cool because they give you the ability to query a data source that is easily editable via Internet Explorer (as opposed to a SQL database which requires more work to build a UI around data manipulation). InfoPath relies on getListData web service to return the items from a SharePoint list. Unfortunately, that ...

  • Deploying Managed Code Solutions: Two Methods

You can't use restricted mode to deploy a managed code (C# or VB.NET) solution in email because InfoPath doesn't allow managed code to run in restricted mode (for good reasons). You have 2 options:Sign the xsn using a digital certificate Pros: the future is digital certificates Pros: publishURL is not removed Con: it will cost you some ...

  • Re: Using Form Libraries with InfoPath

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. I planning to try three approaches (Sharepoint form libraries, link to Access view InfoPath, and dataview web part link to Access). Since the applications need to be dynamic, i.e. users filling in forms, reports feeding off queried tables, administrators editing and manipulating data, and being able to ...

  • Faulty Condition Expressions

2004-07-03 I uncovered this bug today while trying to figure out why an InfoPathDev example form I've been preparing hasn't been working correctly. I've reported it to my Microsoft contacts, but it is unlikely that there will be any fix for this in SP1 before it ships. This bug has caused me grief for a long time, and I finally ...

  • How to Really Depress a Button!

Status: Not fixed as of the InfoPath 2003 SP2 release. I uncovered this bug merely on 2004-07-03 and reported it to my Microsoft contacts. I discovered that you can get a button into a depressed state and have it stuck there until you release it with another click. It's really not a hard thing to do. And what's ...
