  • Make a Filter Work Automatically With No User Interaction

When you add a filter to a control such as a repeating table, the filter should be able to work automatically (i.e. require no user interaction). If you run into a situation where this is not working, you can try the following steps.Make a backup of your form template.Extract your form files to a folder.Edit the manifest.xsf file in a text ...

  • Can't get Pop Fields after Select to work

I downloaded the example of populating fields after selection to see how that technique worked. After a bit, I discovered that you set rules for the dropdown box: Set a fields value Field Name SQLField[@ContactName=@Name] OK, looks simple enough for even me to do! But it doesn't work for me... So I went back to you sample form, and deleted ...

  • Re: Repeating table from XMLDataDoc

Hey Greg. I did a lot of homework and still cannot get it to go. Could you provide an example of how to add rows to a repeating table from an XMLDataDocument. In other words, I want to add one row to the repeating table for each node in the XDD. Thanks, Frank Frank Solner

  • Remove a Form Template from the InfoPath Cache

You might encounter a situation where forms continue to open in a form template that you deleted. This may seem strange until you learn that InfoPath caches form templates. Although you deleted the physical copy, the cached version still exists. InfoPath caches form templates the first time they are used. This enables you to use online InfoPath ...

  • Re: getting 2 values from one drop down

Actually I'm using rules to set each of the values in this particular example. The default value is another great way to go though! Thanx for sharing the example. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: getting 2 values from one drop down

Greg, does your sample use the OnAfterChange event? With SP1, you don't need that at all, you can just set the 'default' value to the right formula and the fields will update automatically. (Default is in quotes because with this new feature it's now misnamed, it's really the 'live' value or something like that.) You can see a sample ...

  • Empty Example .ZIP Files

A couple of people have said that when they try to open the InfoPathDev.com Example .zip files, that they are blank. It appears that there is an incompatibility with the Windows XP built-in ZIP functionality. I'm using the Windows 2003 Server built-in ZIP functionality, and I've been told that the .zip files open correctly when using either ...
  • Re: Repeating table from XMLDataDoc

Thanks Greg. I will not know the number of rows. I guess I could loop through the nodes and count them? I will give this a try and let you know. Thanks again. Regards, Frank Frank Solner

  • Re: Repeating table from XMLDataDoc

Your selectSingleNode() call is always grabbing the first row of the table. If you can guarantee that you will always have the same number of rows as you do XNodes, then you could use a variable to get you by: Dim iRow = 1 For Each XNode In XNodes thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''//my:first[iRow]'').text = ...

  • Display a Linked Picture from a Parameterized Active Server Page

You might need to display a custom picture in your form based on field values. You can do this using an Active Serve Page that takes parameters. Your Active Serve Page might return a barcode, a map, a photograph, or any other kind of picture. Your form will use the Linked Picture control. In this task we will show how to set up the linked picture ...
