Brief question: How do I get InfoPath to accept data returned from Submit as latest/''original'' data in database? Long question: * Using InfoPath connected to WebService * Form is an ''update row'' form, has ''Run Query'' & ''Submit'' (-type) buttons * I ''Run Query'' to initially populate with row * ''FieldA'' has value ''Original'' in it * I ...

  • Web service session

OK, I've tried this one on MS communities and gotten nowhere. Using a web service. WS starts a new ''session'' on first contact from IP. I need to reuse this session for future IP exchanges. Left to itself, you get a brand new session on each contact from IP. From what I have read, I think you have have to preserve a cookie, extracted from ...

  • Change a control to "cannot be blank" at runtime?

I'm looking for a way to programatically (any language) set a control/Data source node (text box to be specific) to be ''cannot be blank'' at runtime. There are a number of field that need to be filled in, but each one is conditional on a drop down list, and if a non-default value in the drop down-list is selected then a value must be entered in ...

  • Re: Help!

Maybe data sets are different. I've never used them before. For a standard data connection the schema for that data connection is only created when you create the data connection. It is a fixed .xsd file in your .xsn (which you can extract and modify). If data sets get dynamic schemas then I'm not sure how that works. You did have another answer ...

  • Re: Help!

OK, let's see if I understand this right now. I have a webservice. It returns an ADO.NET dataset. IP gets/generates the schema for this at design time, storing it as an XSD effectively embedded in the XSN. I fancy getting a bit more control over the schema. Let's say, I want one or both of: * restriction minLength=''1'', to make a string show ...

  • Re: DatePicker loosing a day.

The dateTime you are receiving back has a shift for time zone: 2004-10-04T00:00:00.0000000-04:00 If you want the current dateTime, not accounting for a time zone, you need to grab the first 19 characters: 2004-10-04T00:00:00 Perhaps the Web service can be configured to return a dateTime without the time zone. If not you can use code to fix ...

  • DatePicker loosing a day.

I've noticed that my Webservice is returning a date ie. 2004-10-04T00:00:00.0000000-04:00 but my DatePicker in InfoPath is Displaying 10/3/2004. Is there a quick workaround for this?
