I think I may not have been clear. When you change the value in Virtualized, you will want to use rules in InfoPath to set the value of the method's ID attribute to the correct ID for that row. I suppose you could also have the rule on your ServerID field.... Name refers to the field in the SharePoint list that you want to update -- and the ...

Hi:
qRules can do this -- it gives you an easy, reusable way so that you can use it for many different forms. Otherwise, you can use CAML -- if you don't write code, you'd need to submit each item individually.

It is basically the same approach as having a repeating table, only simpler. Just add an XML data source to your form with the correct CAML for submitting the item to your SharePoint list. When the user fills out the text box, set the correct Field node in your CAML to the value. Then submit to the Lists web service. This thread has a CAML sample ...

I think you may need to alter your query statement in code prior to running it. It seems to me that you are instead altering the SQL statement for the main data connection. Here's an MSDN page that may help.

You'll need to include the ID field, so <Field Name='ID'></Field> with the ID for the item populating that node. You'll also need to change the ID attribute for the Method.

So, you have a form that submits to a list already? Did you write the CAML for it? Here is a blog post on submitting list items to SharePoint using CAML in an InfoPath form....

You can use CAML to submit to a SharePoint list -- are you updating an existing item? Or adding a new item?
-
I think you would be able to use the CAML approach, since this is an existing list item -- it would have it's ID when you query your list for it. So, when the user selects Virtualized, you could create the CAML to update the list item so that the value is submitted to your List A.
Check out the U2U CAML query builder -- it really helps me ...

In general, as long as the value in the XML matches one of the values in the secondary data source providing data to the drop down, the correct item will display as "selected" when you re-open the XML. Does the value you are returning from your web service differ from the value options in the drop down? Maybe some extra whitespace in the ...
