• Re: header and footer generate automatically

Use Expression Boxes in the header/footer instead of plain text. The Expression Box can be bound to the field that you want to have displayed. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: Distinguish between new & existing rows?

The problem is you don't have control over the schema. There is no way of knowing whether a row is new unless you have some kind of a flag. It seems your only option at this point is to create a copy with the flag, use the copy for your editing, then post back without the flag when you save. Unless you can modify the main schema, I don't see ...

  • Re: Repeating table and query fields problem

When you can't do what you want with what InfoPath provides, its time to start looking at building your own stuff. Here's what I suggest: 1. Create a secondary data source that will be your repeating table of {PortfolioID} {FundID} {RptMonth} {RptYear}. 2. Use the repeating table bound to the secondary data source for the user to enter their ...

A user selects the the customer id from the drop down list box. I take the ID and want to pass it to a web service method programmatically. • Re: Populate Drop Down List Programatically - Solved

I figured it out. Sort of... Here is how you do it... Layout of Controls: Drop down list box 1 (field1) button1 (btnGetCustomers) Drop down list box 2 (field2) button2 (btnGetOrders) Create a secondary data source. Go through the wizard, select the URL for the web service, select the web method you want to use, give it a friendly name ...

  • Re: Error loading InfoPath project

I'm afraid I don't know anything about your errors. But in answer to reforming a .XSN: When you're inside IP you can ''Extract Form Files...'' (''File'' menu) to export all files separately, where you can then edit/overwrite them. Conversely, if you have a working manifest.xsf, you can edit that in IP, and when you save you then get a .XSN ...

  • Populate Drop Down List Programatically - Solved

On the InfoPath newsgroup, Carole had asked Is there a way to programmatically bind a drop down list box, or do I have to use a web service as a secondary data source?'' And Greg Collins response was populate a repeating list of nodes with individual values for each user... See the original thread here ...

  • Re: Error loading InfoPath project

Hello Greg, I have downloaded XML Spy and tested all the XSL Files which it tells me all files are valid. I have used XML Spy to test the Template.Xml file and it gives me the error This file is not well Formed. I then test manifest.xsf file and it displays the error message Unable to locate a reference to a supported schema type (DTD. W3C ...

  • Re: Debug several projects...

Do you mean, you have one of these new-fangled stinky integrated IP projects in VS.NET, using managed code, having downloaded the new IP 2003 Toolkit for VS.NET? Which runs like a dog... 'Coz I've stuck to the separate IP project, nothing to do with VS.NET, using MS Script, and then I know how to do what you want... For your way, have you tried ...
