• Re: Getting at the schema --- revisited

Thanks. I think I get the drift. Quite tricky, then... For now, I think I'll keep this for reference. I'll ''hard code'' into IP script knowledge of the tables/columns which hold datetimes which need converting between UTC & local time. This is, in effect, what I have had to do when exporting to reporting tools anyhow (i.e. everywhere in the ...

  • Re: When is a default view not a default view?

Greg, Thanks for the work and explanantion. At least it all ties up with the situation I was in. Of course I'm not satisfied with the behaviour! :) I am, however, very satisfied with the support you provide :) MS not sufficiently documenting is probably what is at issue. If I set a view as a default, I expect it to be the default. If they ...

  • Database Access through infopath..... please help!

To anyone who may be able to help. I have just started using infopath as part of an adhoc request system. The process is as follows: the user registers a request by filling in a form I have created in infopath and the subsequent details are written to an access database using the submit button functionality. However, the primary key, or the ...

  • Re: CAb Compress/Decompress in Managed Code

Some one else may wish to provide a differing opinion, but as far as I know, you need to call out and use the command line utilities for this. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: .NET Deployment?

The only thing I can think of off hand is that you will need a full trust form if you want to use a custom task pane. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: Getting at the schema --- revisited

First off, schemas get broken up by InfoPath when there are mixed namespaces. It separates each namespace into its own schema file and then uses the import statement to combine them all back together at runtime. If the schema you want is part of your main schema then you are okay. If it isn't then you have the problem that whenever you update ...

  • Re: When is a default view not a default view?

Ok, a little research -- this is, of course, actually a feature of the product. There are two key elements to make happen what you are experiencing: 1. <xsf:xDocumentClass... dataFormSolution=''yes'' ...> 2. <xsf:property name=''queryView'' type=''string'' value=''yes''/> If either of these are not present you will not see the view ...

  • Getting at the schema --- revisited

I asked elsewhere about getting at the schema at run-time. Greg answered: quote:You cannot directly access the live schema. You can however load the schema for reference purposes. You will be working with a local copy of the schema and so any changes you make will not be affecting your form... but this is a good thing as changing your schema live ...
